In connection with the International Costal Clean Up Day last September 20, 2008, the Rotary Club of Hundred Islands conducted its share the following day, September 21, 2008 at the Cacupangan Cave, Tagudin, Mabini, Pangasinan.  The participation of the club in the international activity is unique considering that it was not a sea coast which was cleaned but a cave because the Municipality of Mabini, Pangasinan, is landlocked.

The ABS-CBN Foundation, ABS - CBN North Central Luzon, MAGtv and Bantay Bata 163 will soon invade the Locality of Mabini.  From the project initiated by the writer for the Mabini Central School, Mabini, Pangasinan between the Production Head of MagTV. Mr. Patrick Gayapa, with the ever dynamic leadership of Ms. Gemma Cacas, one of the Regional Group Executives, will showcase a once in a lifetime opportunity to lend a help and assistance for the provision of school materials. The main venture is primarily to lenghten outreach programs to those who are in need of their assistance.

July 14, 2008, Magalong, Mabini. The Rotary Club of Hundred Islands (RCHi) in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Grosse Ile, D6400, Michigan and the Local Government Unit of Mabini, Pangasinan, launched the repair of the school building that was damaged by Typhoon "Cosme" in Magalong National High School, Barangay Magalong, Municipality of Mabini, Pangasinan on July 14, 2008.

During the regular session of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) presided by the Hon. Teresita B. Maminta, of Brgy. Calzada, last July 15, the Hon. Mayor Titos Reyes and Hon. Vice Mayor Alimar Briana took the opportunity to report the accomplishments that the Local Government Unit of Mabini had finished regarding the restoration of public schools that were damaged by the typhoon “Cosme”.
