It was about 7:42 a.m. of February 8, the partly gloomy yet rewarding morning takes its pace, when I and the rest of my colleagues – the LGU Mabini Web Team together with LGU volunteers, manage to leave the ground of the Mabini Public Auditorium. Rawen and Rodysseus, my web team family, Kuya Jerry, our web developer, Christopher and Kuya Lito, our LGU volunteers, find ourselves as we setback for an adventurous eco-exploration trip bound to Sitio Barrit, Brgy. Villacorta – one of Mabini’s widest and longest trailed barangays.

It is with deepest and sincerest pleasure that I convey my warmest greetings to one and all as we welcome you to this year’s Patronal and Town Fiesta Celebration in honor of our Patron Saint Sto. Niño.

This year’s Fiesta theme “Nagamuran so aliguas na baley diad biskeg na pananisia tan pankakasakey, . . . natan la, Mabini” literally gives us the formula of “Faith plus Unity equals Progress”.

A little bit disappointed? But of course, LGU, Mabini is prouder to come out second to LGU Alaminos City in the much-awaited finals of the 1st Congressional inter-LGU basketball tournament in the first district of Pangasinan. LGU Anda came out third place and LGU Dasol fourth.

"The grandeur that was Mabini!" one spectator uttered with much of amusement.

It’s like “Fiesta sa Nayon”, some people whispered to each other, as they see large number of people swooping in the Mabini public plaza in celebration of Mabinian’s “Pasko sa Nayon.”

The 2007 pre-Christmas joint community project of the Balincaguin Culture and Dance Foundation (BCDF) and the Sangguniang Kabataan of Poblacion with the assistance of the Municipal Social Welfare Office for the 100 less fortunate children of Mabini this 22nd of December (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon) held at Mabini Central School soared an exemplary success.

The oath of office was taken by the new members of the Sangguniang Barangay (S.B.) and Sangguniang Kabataan (S.K.) on 30 November 2007 with Congressman Arthur F. Celeste as the inducting officer. During the simple program, both Congressman Celeste and Municipal Mayor Carlitos R. Reyes gave inspirational messages and reminded the newly-elected officials of their obligations as public servants.

Mabini, Pangasinan West – Defeated in the 12th game, but still leads the race.

LGU-Mabini team still tops the First congressional District Inter-LGU Basketball Tournament sponsored by Cong. Arthur F. Celeste and organized by Mayor Domingo A. Doctor, Jr. after the game held last Friday, November 16 with LGU-Anda at Don Marcelo Ochave Plaza, Alaminos City.
